What do you think about the "Fair Tax" - 2007/03/06 02:01 The "fair tax" will replace income tax. It will be a sales tax on new goods and services.

My opionion: I like the idea of dropping the income tax for a sales tax. My biggest concern is not how the revenue is collected. My concern is how and when will they cut spending. What difference does it make if they steal the money from your right pocket or left? They simple must cut spending. Then we should address how the money is collected. JB

Re:What do you think about the "Fair Tax" - 2007/03/19 13:46 JAMES,YOU SURELY DON'T THINK THE LIBS WILL EVER ALLOW A FAIR TAX PLAN TO HAPPEN.IT WOULD EFFECT THE MAJORITY OF THEIR VOTERS.JAMES,THEY WOULD ACTUALLY HAVE TO PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE,AND WITHOUT THE GOVT.CARRYING THE LOAD FOR THEM,THEY WOULD HAVE NO INTEREST IN GOVT,WHICH = LACK OF INTEREST ON ELECTION DAY.BUT YES I THINK THE FAIR TAX PLAN IS A GOOD PLAN FOR AMERICA,WORK OUT THE KINKS,ALLOW CONCESSIONS FOR THE TRUELY NEEDY AND ELDERLY,AND THE REST OF US PAY ON A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD.

Re:What do you think about the "Fair Tax" - 2007/03/20 23:54 SS.... We had a Fair Tax supporter speak at our meeting in Feb. . One guy attending is a "liberal". After the FT guy mentioned the min. $100 "pre-bate" per month ($1200.00 year min for single) he seemed interested. Most low income folks don't spend $100 per month in sales tax.

I see little difference in so called "liberals" and "conseratives" today. Especially with local politicans.
